Company Description:We’re looking for a motivated Agronomy Manager for Solterra’s newest cropping aggregation Coolana in Southern New South Wales, south of Forbes. Spanning around 9,500ha, this farm offers scale, efficiency, and high-quality soil, making it well-suited for broadacre cropping.
This region provides access to key agricultural services and a welcoming rural community. Nearby towns offer schools, healthcare, and essential amenities, making it a great place to live and work.
The Agronomy Manager will be responsible for supporting the Farm Manager driving the agronomic performance of the farm, planning crop rotations and budgets through AgWorld, overseeing quality and timeliness of key farm operations, monitoring crop performance, and managing inputs. The role works closely with farm staff, contractors, and the corporate team to drive cost effective productivity, safety, and long-term sustainable farm returns.

Job Description:About your next job
Reporting to the Farm Manager, you’ll play a hands-on role in driving the agronomic performance of the farm.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the Farm Manager, external agronomist and farm team to drive the agronomic and production performance of the farm.
- Supporting the Farm Manager in developing and planning crop rotations and budgets through AgWorld.
- Assisting with the day-to-day management and performance of the farm, including overseeing quality and timeliness of key farm operations, contractor coordination, and team leadership.
- Monitoring crop health, growth stages, and seasonal progress, and communicating this with the Farm Manager.
- Managing crop inputs, ordering requirements, and overseeing monthly stocktakes.
- Lead farm precision agriculture activities, including soil and tissue testing, paddock data analysis, and the use of prescription and yield mapping tools.
- Playing a hands-on role in the setup, calibration, and monitoring of farm machinery across spraying, planting, spreading, and harvest operations.
- Ensuring strong workplace health, safety, fatigue management, and environmental stewardship across all farm activities.
- Supporting research, continuous improvement, and the adoption of new practices and technologies to drive productivity and long-term farm returns.
Qualifications:About You
- You bring exposure to agronomy and broadacre cropping operations, with a sound understanding of agronomy and farm production systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone in their second or third role within the agronomy field.
- You are confident working with AgWorld, or systems like AgWorld, and using data and technology to support planning and decision-making.
- You bring a strong commitment to safety leadership, environmental care, and building a positive team culture.
- You have a proactive approach to learning, improvement, and adopting new farming practices.
- A bonus would be if you have experience coordinating seasonal operations, contractors, and farm workflows to achieve high performance outcomes, but not necessary.
