Job Description:Aurora Dairies are currently seeking multiple Dairy Cattle Farmers - Farm Hands across South-East South Australia, Australia. The farms are located in the Mount Gambier Region.
The successful candidates will have a passion for the dairy industry and have experience in assisting the
management team in managing a dairy operation. The successful candidates will have demonstrated
skills and experience in the following areas:
- Complete droving - moving cows to shed prior to milking as needed
- Complete milkings in the dairy shed - complete prestart, milking and clean-up
- Effectively work as part of a team, ensuring pace is aligned
- Identify and report equipment not operating as it should and complete general/minor maintenance as required and according to safe operating procedure
- Complete data entry/recording of incidents, milking, machinery and animal health
- Comply with all safe operating procedures and support the safety culture on farm
- Tractor work
- Animal feeding, calf feeding, paddock setup and other general farm tasks.
Qualifications:The desired skills and experience for this opportunity are:
- Minimum of 1 year, but preferably 2 years of dairy industry experience
- Certificate in Agriculture an advantage
- Committed to ensuring a safe workplace
- Reliable and punctual
- Good work ethic and positive attitude
- Team player.
