Baiada are seeking to fill the position of Assistant Farm Manager at our team in Darlington Point, NSW.

Key responsibilities: (but not limited to):

  • The position supplies operational direction to staff when required.
  • Prompt and correct decisions regarding the breeder farm operation are made as and when required in conjunction with management team.
  • The breeder farm and equipment are operated in a safe manner to their full capacity whilst ensuring working life is maximized.
  • The Management team is assisted in maintaining appropriate staffing levels and this is monitored and adjusted as required.
  • Liaise with management on matters affecting bird growth and quality.
  • Assist in ordering supplies in the time frame required.
  • Ensure company assets, biosecurity and general security are maintained and monitored.
  • Ensure livestock are cared for with adequate feed, water, temperature and health monitoring to attain maximum potential with concern for bird welfare.
  • Bird weighing/feeding and all ancillary farm operation are carried out in accordance with company procedures and instructions.
  • Records are maintained to demonstrate cost control and monitoring of bird health.

Essential skills:

  • Proven animal husbandry skills.
  • Proven skills in management of personnel.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, WHS and EMS policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of CoR requirements.
  • Experience in the poultry industry, specifically breeder farming.
  • Undertake Certificate III in Poultry Production qualification (if required).
  • Team player.
  • Able to see tasks through to completion.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Desire to take ownership and responsibility.
  • Genuine concern for welfare of stock.

Pay: $73,150.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift

Supplementary Pay:

  • Overtime pay
  • Penalty rates
