The Role

As an Environmental Professional, you will be part of the large construction team supporting the projects across Australia and New Zealand, and develop the environmental aspects of the full EPC scope of our wind farms.
Global Health, Safety & Environment>HSE APAC>Regional construction HSE APAC
Roster: 3 weeks on and 1 week off
FIFO/ DIDO role.
Location: WA Projects. Western Australia.
- Travel requirements: This position will be located at a windfarm but may require some travel to Melbourne and other sites for training purposes. Periods in other remote site locations may also be required from time to time to gain further knowledge of WTG
or site operational requirements. In addition, the position may require travel to other remote sites to assist with completing outstanding projects
* Shift requirements: Flexibility is essential. There may be a requirement for this position to work 6 days a week and nights
Responsibilities:
Quality and Safety:
- Demonstrate commitment to Safety at all times

- Demonstrate commitment to environmental sustainability at all times
- Ensure a safe workplace and report all hazards and incidents immediately
- All site health, safety and environment policies and procedures are adhered to
- All works carried out on site are in accordance with Vestas’ and the client’s quality specifications
- Ensure construction of access roads and turbines are completed without incident, and in accordance with QSE policies and procedures and legislative requirements
- Ensure that incidents are immediately recorded in accordance with QSE procedures
- Provide technical advice in the compilation of JSEA’s, SWMS and Risk Assessments
- Timely and accurate reporting to ensure incidents are immediately responded to by the relevant departments at Vestas
- Ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date
Internal reporting:
- Assist with compilation of QSE reports
- Accurate and timely reporting with relevant commentary and input
- Provide input to any Incidents / Accidents being reported on the Incident Management system
Span of Control/Authority:
Decisions, advice, recommendations etc. the position has authority to carry out:
- Instruct and advise Vestas construction team
- Instruct and advise Vestas sub-contractors
- Assist with risk assessments and provide technical advice
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Environmental Science or Bachelor of Environmental Engineering (or equivalent)
White Card
Competencies:
3-5 years civil construction experience in a site environmental role
Experience managing and documenting compliance activities
Experience in implementing controls and managing documents that demonstrate compliance with Environmental Consents conditions
Wind industry experience preferred but not mandatory
Essential Skills:
Understanding and implementation of Environmental Management Systems
Strong Environmental technical skills, in particular, advising on Erosion and Sediment Controls, Water Quality, Flora and Fauna, Rehabilitation and measures to comply with project consent conditions
Understanding software programs that support Environmental Management
Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication skills, within professional service provider environment
Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
A strong commitment to Safety and Quality at all times
Excellent time management and report writing skills
Understanding and intermediate user of MS Office, MS Office skills, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and SAP
Experience in using Enablon and iAuditor preferred
Proactive and hands on approach toward role - involved and engaged
Self-starter and self-motivated
Able to inspire and motivate others to action - team leader
Seeks and accepts responsibility
