Hotel Boston, operated by the Trustee for Perks Group Hotel Boston, is seeking skilled and experienced Chefs and Cooks to join its dynamic culinary team in Port Lincoln. As a well-established and highly regarded venue, the Hotel Boston is known for its exceptional dining experience, warm hospitality, and inviting atmosphere.

This opportunity offers full-time positions with a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 – $80,000 per annum plus superannuation, negotiable based on experience. The ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and take pride in delivering high-quality meals to guests.

SCOPE OF THE ROLE:

  • Assist and oversee the preparation, cooking and presentation of all our innovative and mouth-watering culinary offerings, ensuring that the food you offer at the site is delivered to an exceptional standard across our menus and daily specials
  • Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure the timely delivery of services.
  • Manage kitchen stocks.
  • Estimate the amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
  • Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
  • Analyze recipes to assign prices to menu items based on food, labour, and overhead costs.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and develop recipes and menus, taking into account factors such as seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of customers.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
  • Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to diners in a timely fashion
  • Oversee food preservation techniques, such as freezing and storing to minimize waste and ensure food safety.

TO BE CONSIDERED, YOU SHOULD:

  • Proven experience as a Cook or Chef in a busy kitchen.
  • Relevant Qualifications – Certificate III & IV in Commercial Cookery.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
  • Availability to work weekends and split shifts.
  • Willingness to relocate (if not already based in Port Lincoln, SA).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Every weekend
  • Monday to Friday
  • Rotating roster
  • Weekend availability

  • Port Lincoln SA 5606: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
