What is the role?

The AFP’s corporate enabling services are delivered through a centrally distributed tiered operating model, supporting the AFP through the functions of Human Resources (HR), Finance and Commercial, Procurement, Contract Management, Planning and Performance.

As a Corporate Team Member you work under the direction of your Team Leader and other Command Corporate Services (CCSU) leaders to deliver professional, high quality and timely corporate services. You work under minimal supervision to achieve high quality results, you anticipate and adapt to changing priorities and suggest new ways of working within the team.

You take responsibility for achieving the objectives you are allocated and managing your work through to completion. You build effective relationships with other team members, frontline staff and other key stakeholders that is based on mutual respect and a genuine understanding of others needs to deliver high quality corporate services to the Command.

You participate in cultivating a strong team culture, through your positive influence, high ethics and professional standards consistent with the AFP values, AFP Core Leadership Continuum, AFP Corporate Plan and your Performance Development Agreement.

Team Member Finance, Procurement and Commercial

The Finance, Procurement and Commercial team supports a Command through the delivery of financial policy advice, management accounting and reporting, procurement services, asset management, fleet services and facilities services aligned with the CCSU service offer. You are responsible for delivering of day-to-day services that enables the Command’s financial and commercial compliance and operational readiness.

As the Finance, Procurement and Commercial Officer, you organise your work, making sound decisions and achieve high quality results with minimal supervision. You perform a range of corporate activities and are the initial point of contact for frontline enquiries, escalating matters as appropriate to ensure high quality and timely finance and commercial services are delivered to the Command.

What will you do?

As a Finance, Procurement and Commercial Team Member, you contribute to tasks for the CCSU based on Command priorities, such as asset stocktakes, financial statements and logistical support.

The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:

Working collaboratively with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Portfolio, national teams to effectively execute finance and commercial services for the command.
Assisting with financial analysis and budget management advice as it relates to the fleet and assets duties.
Assisting senior team members to provide the Command with procurement advice and support to acquire appropriate goods and services.
Assisting in the completion of tender documentation, contract registration, creation of shopping carts and invoice processing along with other transactional purchasing requirements.
Coordinating fleet including utilisation reporting, servicing, fuel cards, insurance claims, parking and infringements.
Undertaking asset management activities including stocktakes and asset disposal.
