Float Practice Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented and experienced Practice Assistant to join our Sydney Float Practice Assistant team. You will be relieving and supporting Practice Assistants and Partners across the firm offering you a diverse workload.

This position is being offered on a part-time, permanent basis working Wednesday to Friday, in office. This role offers the chance to take initiative and anticipate the needs of the Partners and teams you are working with, leveraging your exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail to stay one step ahead.

The key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Building and maintaining client and internal relationships
  • Arranging internal and external meetings, including diary management
  • Organising and overseeing travel arrangements (both domestic and international)
  • Managing billing, expense management and reporting processes
  • Matter management including opening and closing files, archiving, electronic filing, and physical filing
  • Other general administrative tasks as required

About You

  • Minimum of 5 years in a legal support role (such as Legal Assistant, Practice Assistant, Legal Executive or Legal Secretary)
  • Sound knowledge of the monthly billing process in a legal environment – experience with Elite is highly regarded
  • Ability to handle competing priorities
  • Typing speed of 70+ wpm
  • Advanced knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to analyse, problem solve and apply appropriate use of judgement
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, choosing an appropriate style for their audience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Adaptable to change
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
