Job Description
Are you ready to experience life on a station while making a real difference in children’s education? We’re on the lookout for a Home Tutor to help guide and support one child currently completing pre-school at Montejinni Station. Montejinni is located in the Victoria River District, 320km south-west of Katherine and 640km south of Darwin.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily school lessons and educational programs, ensuring adherence to the curriculum.
- Plan and prepare lessons, encouraging extracurricular activities such as sports, art, and science.
- Provide childcare outside school hours as needed when both parents are working.
- Maintain a child-safe environment and ensure the schoolroom is clean, tidy, and safe.
- Assist with tasks including cleaning, washing, supplementary feeding, and other duties as directed by management.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain personal equipment in good condition.
Desired Skills and Experience
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience in tutoring or distance education is an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated interest in arts, crafts, and extracurricular development.
- Computer literacy and attention to detail.
- Current driver’s License
- A practical, resourceful, and safety-conscious approach to all tasks.
- Working With Children Check required.
