We are looking for a Junior Production Engineer to join our Engineering Team based in Forrestfield on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for working closely with the production team to ensure the efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality trailers.
As a Junior Production Engineer you will play a pivotal role in analysing production processes, identify areas for improvement, offer solutions and assist with production goals.
This position is/includes:
- Full-time permanent role.
- Monday – Friday.
- Free onsite parking.
- Immediate Start.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Develop a basic understanding of trailer subsystems such as air, electric, and hydraulic systems.
- Create and update schematics for air, electric, and hydraulic systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials for trailer components and subsystems.
- Support the generation and maintenance of air, electric, and hydraulic system schematics for production use.
- Contribute to updates and improvements in fabrication and assembly procedures to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Evaluate and improve production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste and maintain high-quality standards
- Collaborate with the production team to develop and implement production schedules that meet customer demands and optimize resource utilisation.
- Assist in the design and rating of jigs and fixtures to improve the manufacturing process.
- Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that all trailers meet industry standards and customer expectations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and logistics, to ensure seamless production processes.
- Assist with continuous improvement for relevant product line.
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
- Experience working within a Manufacturing environment (preferred).
- 2D Drawing Software (AutoCAD).
- 3D Design Software (Inventor preferred).
- ERP (Epicor preferred).
- Ability to work with all internal departments to achieve the desired results.
- Sound communication skills.
- Motivated, diligent and organised.
- Sound time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
