The Role

Antep Mangal are a well-known authentic fine dining Turkish restaurant located just outside Perth city. The company is in the expansion stage and multiple positions required are paramount. An opportunity has arisen for experienced Pastry Cook to join and grow with the company.

KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food in an authentic fine dining Turkish restaurant.
  • Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients.

Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods.

  • Preparing pastry fillings.
  • Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times.
  • Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products.
  • Glazing buns and pastries and decorating cakes.
  • Operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits.
  • Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment.
  • Knowledge of traditional pastry, catering and Turkish bakery/ pastry.
  • Preparing and cooking food.
  • Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Trade Skill Certificates equivalent to NZSCI level 2.
  • Candidates to have adequate language skills to perform duties as required by the distinct qualifications.
  • Applicants with Turkish pastry, bread, baklava, sweets and other regional pastry experience highly preferable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year

  • Advanced Diploma / Associate Degree (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Master Chef: 3 years (Preferred)
