The Role
Ten Farms Pty Ltd is a produce company with deep roots in the Australian fresh produce industry. The company has evolved from a focus on bananas to marketing over 50,000 tonnes of fresh fruit annually across various categories.
Operating across three states, Ten Farms emphasizes efficient and transparent trade, supplying major Australian supermarkets such as Woolworths and Aldi. The company also exports fresh Australian produce, including over 500 product lines, to international markets like the USA, Canada, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The business is seeking a full-time qualified Section Supervisor to join our team in Epping, Mildura, or Euston.
The salary offered is $73,150 per annum plus superannuation.
Job duties and responsibilities include:
- Ensure that relevant growing and harvesting treatments are carried out as per established procedures and operators are trained to discharge their respective duties
- Liaise with Agronomist / Agricultural Technician / Farm Operation Manager regarding table grapes’ growing treatments and suggests improvements where required
- Liaise with maintenance division regarding maintenance of vine and equipment
- Ensure all methods of viticulture treatments are done as per standard procedures.
- Planning for the pre-plant, fertiliser application, broadcasting of fertilizer and boom spraying of chemicals
- Ensure the weather conditions are suitable to perform the required task to achieve the best efficacy
- Liaise with Agronomist regarding scheduling of all vine water requirements
- Monitor operations in vine growing to ensure work quality
- Manage stock of fertilisers and chemicals
The applicants will have the following skills and experience:
- AQF Certificate IV in the horticulture, viticulture or in a related field
- Demonstrated 1 years of experience (working 20 hours per week)
- Experience as a Horticulture Manager/Farm Supervisor in Agriculture/Horticulture or Forestry industry
- Computing/administration skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of agricultural production principles
- Ability to supervise staff, contractors, and seasonal workers
- Experience in the operation and use of farm machinery
- Driver’s licence
