The Role

This is a unique opportunity to join a high achieving team to help grow the sales portfolio and contribute to building significant wind farm projects across Australia and New Zealand.

As the successful candidate you will have strong experience in calculating pricing across complex projects, along with an ability to collaborate across multiple departments to gather costing and tender information.

As a VE and Pricing Specialist, you will work on project commercial value engineering optimization and price tactics for wind energy projects as well as pricing strategy for wind energy markets: You will play a key role in optimising value for customers and maximizing returns for Vestas. You will have relevant experience in a similar strategic role involving value-based selling, cost/price estimation and analysis, financial valuation or technical optimization.

This position has a high level of responsibility, with cross-functional organisational touchpoints and the ability to drive company success in the wind energy sector.

Responsibilities
* Work in projects with Sales Managers, Technical Sales and Service Sales on sales opportunities, contributing to competitive positioning and value propositions for customer’s wind energy projects
* Commercial value engineering and price strategy development for projects and markets
* Market analysis on competitiveness, customer business cases in wind, and Vestas’ value proposition
* Explore and develop commercial optimization via technical, executional, operational, financial levers provided by functional experts that affect the overall business case and be able to effectively communicate these levers internally and externally
* Develop analysis on the competitive landscape, pricing and positioning, and deliver input to sales strategy discussions and capture plans.
* Preparation of commercial analyses and recommendations for Vestas management
* Prepare commercial analyses, customer business cases and competitor benchmarks as part of the price analysis and recommendations
* Present pricing recommendations and underlying assumptions at internal review meetings
* Establish function in Australia, with potential to grow it to cover wider Asia-Pacific region
* Represent VE and Pricing function within global value engineering community, product strategy and sales forecasting

Qualifications
* 2+ years’ experience from a technical or commercial position within the energy sector, either within:
* Pricing, project optimization or from management consultancy
* Sales, procurement
* Private equity
* Technical background within Wind
* B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in either Finance, Economics or Engineering
* You will have a relevant experience in from a similar strategic role involving value-based selling, cost/price estimation and analysis, financial valuation or technical optimizations
* Fluency in English is a must

Competencies
* Strong analytical, modelling and data presentation skills
* Advanced IT skills (proficient with Microsoft Office Package)
* Ability to work under time pressure and with a can-do attitude
* Result oriented and self-driven, able to progress independently towards the set goals
* Structured, organized, and detailed oriented
* Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to communicate clearly and concisely
