Your role

Be a key enabler of transformational governance in housing delivery.

Homes NSW is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Governance Officer to join our Strategic Governance team. This role is central to managing secretariat functions for key strategic and investment committees and supporting the design and rollout of enhanced governance systems across the Housing Portfolio division.

This position plays a vital role in ensuring the effective functioning of the Property Review Committee (PRC), Direct Dealing Committee (DDC), Monthly Business Review, and the new Social Housing Boost Program Steering Committee (SteerCo). In addition to managing these secretariat functions, you’ll contribute to shaping and embedding a refreshed governance framework aligned with Homes NSW’s broader corporate objectives.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to support evidence-based decision-making and lead continuous improvement projects that advance governance processes, enhance organisational efficiency, and support the delivery of high-impact housing programs.

What you’ll do

As part of the Strategic Governance team, you will lead and manage secretariat services including agendas, minutes, papers and follow-up actions for key committees. You’ll provide expert advice to project teams and executive-level committee members on governance processes, including induction and ongoing support.

You will also support and manage key governance improvement initiatives in 2025, including:

  • Establishing secretariat systems for the Social Housing Boost Program SteerCo.
  • Refreshing PRC templates and committee workflows.
  • Implementing a scoring-based framework for assessing new housing supply projects.
  • Updating intranet content and aligning internal processes with new Homes NSW governance structures.

You will engage extensively with stakeholders to support change management and ensure uptake of new systems and frameworks.

You’ll conduct research, analysis, and policy review to improve governance effectiveness and alignment, maintain and improve divisional systems documentation, and promote standardisation across governance functions.

What we’re looking for
You are a strategic thinker with strong project coordination skills and deep experience in governance or secretariat services. You thrive in a collaborative environment, navigating complexity with confidence and bringing clarity to committee and governance processes.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering secretariat functions at an executive level.
  • Proven ability to develop governance processes, procedures, and systems that drive consistency and quality.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management capabilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and change enablement.
  • Advanced minute-taking and document preparation skills.
  • Familiarity with governance frameworks within a government or large corporate environment, particularly in the housing or public infrastructure sectors, is highly desirable. .

At Homes NSW, you’ll contribute to work that matters – enabling evidence-based investment and policy decisions that drive housing outcomes across NSW. You’ll join a supportive team leading governance reform and innovation, with opportunities to influence how major social housing initiatives are delivered.
