What you’ll be doing

Performance of histology laboratory procedures (including procedures relating to the biopsy and autopsy service). Performance of Mortuary duties including assistance at autopsies. Participation in quality assurance procedures and contribution to in-service education.
* TAFE Associate Diploma in Pathological or Biological Sciences or equivalent

  • Experience in Embedding, microtomy, special stains, cryotomy and immunohistochemistry

  • Experience in Mortuary and Autopsy procedures including: measuring, photography, babygram and reconstruction.

  • Willingness to work with infectious material

  • Experience with Cerner laboratory computer system, photography and/or digital imaging systems.

  • Commitment to further education and professional development

  • Proven ability to conduct independent projects
